Eaddy and Waller Capture Central Florida Title

Under the guidance of new promoter Tony Curtis and his University Gym the 1999 NPC Central Florida District Championships was held on Saturday, April 10, in Gainesville at the Lincoln Auditorium.

Chris Eaddy of Gainesville, a University of Florida student studying exercise physiology, last year did not even place in this same show, came into the event at a hard and ripped 158 1/2 pounds to capture the middleweight class and the men's overall unanimously.

Michele Waller of Floral City was competing for the first time and weighed in at 101 pounds. Michele won the lightweight class and the overall unanimously.

Ripped Newcomer Takes Southern USA

The former South Carolina bodybuilding champion marked his first six months in Florida with an overwhelming victory at the NPC national qualifier, the Southern USA.

Superheavyweight Joe Patterson, of Panama City, 6' 2" tall and 230 pounds, won both his class and the open overall unanimously.

A panhandle resident, Cheri Elliott of Milton was unopposed in the Women's Division. Thirty-three-years-old, she has been training for five years and was in competition for the first time.

Novices Take First Ft. Lauderdale Show

The premier NPC Greater Ft. Lauderdale Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships was held at the Broward County Performing Arts Amaturo Theater and was promoted by Robbie Aratari and David Wisdom in conjunction with One-Stop-Nutrition of Pompano Beach.

Deidre Hales, 30, formerly of Nassau, Bahamas, was competing for the first time and was unopposed in the women's division.

Brian Wilson, 35, competing for the first time, won the middleweight class before moving on to the finals and taking the overall title.

Genevieve P. Graham, 28, was competing for the first time and was unopposed in the fitness division. Genevieve is employed by the corporate offices of Road House Grill and relocated to the U.S. six years ago from Dublin, Ireland.
